Here are some basic natural remedies you need to apply in your hair to get rid of dandruff.

Tea Tree Oil

Shampoos with just 5 percent tea tree oil significantly improve the severity of dandruff. You can also add a few drops of tea tree oil to your favorite shampoo as you wash normally.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a magic remedy for dandruff. Some ingredients you use every day double as effective dandruff remedies—like baking soda.

Wash your hair and then rub a handful of baking soda vigorously into your scalp.

Skip the shampoo and go right to rinsing. Baking soda reduces overactive fungi that can cause dandruff.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar changes the pH of your scalp, making it harder for the yeast to grow. Mix a quarter cup apple cider vinegar with a quarter cup water in a spray bottle and spritz on your scalp.

Coconut Oil And Lemon

Heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and mix it with equal amount of lemon juice.

Treating with curd is a little messy but it’s very effective for dandruff. Apply some curd to your hair and scalp properly and let it sit tight for about an hour. Rinse it off with a shampoo.


Neem is very useful when it comes to treating dandruff. Neem has anti-bacterial properties and is an amazing home remedy for dandruff.

You just need to grind a bunch of neem leaves in a food processor to form a thick paste and apply this paste on your scalp and let it sit for 10 minutes or so and wash it off with water.
